ECB's Trichet Stresses Importance of Integrated Financial Markets

(CEP News) Frankfurt - Integrated financial markets are key for the single market to be able to reach its full potential and for the efficient execution of a single monetary policy, European Central Bank President Jean-Claude Trichet said.
"Financial integration matters for the ECB as it contributes to the efficient functioning of the monetary union," Trichet said in a speech on financial market integration in Frankfurt, Germany on Thursday.
"Integrated financial markets help to realize the full economic potential of the European Union."
